We’re a quarter into 2015 and the first wave of new albums is about to hit. Sufjan Stevens is about to drop one, and Modest Mouse has been trickling out singles as we await their first album in years. Here are the five songs that have stood out to me the most in 2015 so far:
Modest Mouse – “Lampshades on Fire”
Joywave - “Somebody New”
The Districts - “4th and Roebling”
Twin Shadow - “I’m Ready”
Django Django - “First Light”
Also, some bonus tracks, featuring Zella Day, The Decemberists, and remember Mat Kearney?
Thanks for sharing! I like new Twin Shadow album. The Mat Keany track reminds me a lot of Chris Martin of Coldplay. Django Django song is not bad, a throwback to Duran Duran it would seem.
ReplyDeleteMy tentative top 10 so far, in random order:
The House by Le Volume Courbe and Kevin Shields (2015 version)
Leaf Off /The Cave by Jose Gonzalez
Living for Love by Madonna
When The Lights Turn Out Twin Shadow
Fantastic Planet by Soko
Where the Sky Hangs by Passion Pit
Strange by Laura Marling
Let It Happen by Tame Impala
Into Your Heart by Young Ejecta
Vortex by John Carpenter
Haven't heard a lot of those so I'll be checking them out! I love "Where the Sky Hangs" as well. Looking forward to that new album.
