Been a little while since I've posted a music update, but here's what I've been listening to lately, for your listening pleasure.
Lately my music time has been dominated by Tame Impala, who changed their sound a bit and came out with an absolutely amazing album called "Currents". At the moment it joins a short list as one of the best albums of the year. It's full of gems. Check out "Let it Happen" below.
The catchiest track of the year might be this fun track from Cayucas, called "Hella".
"Sedona" from Houndsmouth is a great little track, though all my time spent in Sedona, Arizona may cloud my judgment.
Florence + The Machine returned with a new album, and the best track off that album is "Queen of Peace". It doesn't break much new ground, but it's all the best things about Florence rolled into one song.
Asgeir is an artist that's apparently been around, but I hadn't heard him before now. He definitely channels the Bon Iver vibe.
Fans of The National should try the new track by EL VY, a new project involving Matt Berninger.
On the more atmospheric side we have "Headbanging on the Mirror" by Ducktails and "Ocean to City" by High Highs.
Ready for some blasts from the past? Both Third Eye Blind and Muse have come out with albums lately, and while I won't tout the overall albums as anything other than decent, their are tracks on both worth listening to.
On the electronic side, CHVRCHES return with a great single "Leave a Trace".
For those of you who enjoy a country/folk vibe, two tracks I've found this week are "Cannery River" by Green River Ordinance and "S.O.B." by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.
There's always more where those came from, so let me know what you enjoyed and what else you might be looking for. Have a good one!
